abstract: This work presents a CMOS image sensor
architecture that uses the current variations of a self-biased
photodiode, while it is exposed to light, and converts it into a digital
word using a current controlled oscillator. Simulations performed show
good linearity for a photodiode current range between 100 pA - 30 nA.
Structures are proposed and implemented in 130 nm process technology for
future measuring purposes.
