abstract: New value can be added to LED lighting by
encoding visual information using flicker noise, which appears in
smartphone videos as the blinking illumination of LEDs. This paper
introduces the development of an LED-based display called the
Stego-panel IV. This system is capable of using flicker noise to display
several types of information imperceptible to human eyes, including
characters and patterns, as captured on a smartphone’s CMOS image
sensor. Thus, the Stego-panel IV can use illumination to transmit
messages to persons using smartphones. The Stego-panel IV is a promising
solution to extend the applications of LEDs.
