abstract: Summary form only given, as follows. The
complete presentation was not made available for publication as part of
the conference proceedings. We have been working on a CMOS-based
biosensors and bio-interface devices in which the CMOS chips itself
works as the front-end of the functionality. The CMOS chip was assembled
into unique device structures such as implantable brain image sensor or
stimulator. In this talk, basic concept, approach to use CMOS chip as
the sensor head, design of the chip, device packaging, and functional
demonstrations will be presented.
