abstract: We propose a Si-CMOS terahertz image sensor
to solve the paucity of low-cost detectors. Here the imager chip
consists of imaging pixel array and column ADCs. The imaging pixel
consists of an on-chip antenna and an amplifier acting as envelope
detector. We fabricated the pixel array with two-types of antennas which
are a microstrip-patch and a folded-slot types, using 0.18-μm CMOS
process. Measurement results show that the folded-slot antenna has over
0 dBi gain at 900 GHz, and a broader bandwidth from 850 GHz to 1.05 THz.
